Tonight’s episode begins with a man rolling a coffin across an intersection, Nolan and Juarez stop to ask him where he is going with the body. The man says his brother Kevin is in the coffin and he is taking him to the bar for one last drink, he doesn’t know when he will see him again, if ever. He opens the coffin and his brother is not dead. They found the coffin.
Lopez and Harper are on the scene of a liquor store owner who has a gunshot to the head, looks like he tried to make a run for it. A cop, officer Jan, tells them that the Double R did it, some girl gang, his CI told him.
At home, Bailey tells John that the energy in the house is off. Ever since their engagement, she feels off. After speaking to Celina, there is blocked energy in their place.
At roll call, Grey is served and so is Lopez, Elijah Stone against the LAPD. A civil suit and a pitches motion, which is a request to see a cop’s personnel file.
Lopez and Harper ask Chen to help them with the Double R, the leader is Shana Quelli, she was released three months ago. They need Chen to infiltrate the gang, to get some evidence or even a confession. Chen says they are not going to let her near them. Harper reminds her that she is UC now, figure it out.
Bradford and Thorsen are called to a home where there is a lot of screaming, his mother says her son, Tabin, is not listening to her, he yells and slams doors. She asks them to put the fear of Jesus in him. Thorsten volunteers to speak to him. Thorsten and Bradford give him a pep talk and Thorsten gives him his business card just in case he ever needs them.
Wesley is getting coffee and a scone when Elijah shows up, with a bodyguard. Wesley tells him that his lawsuit is malicious. Elijah tells him to get out, he filed a restraining order against him and he is going to be there every day. Wesley tells him to take the scone, it’s all he is going to get.
Nolan and Juarez are just finished giving someone a ticket when a woman comes out of nowhere and shoots a man in a car multiple times. Nolan runs after her and manages to catch her, he puts her into the car and she says that he got what he deserved. Juarez tells Nolan that she didn’t kill the guy, he was dead for over an hour already. Grey shows up and says the guy must have been a piece of work if two people wanted him dead.
Chen says that Vina Codon, one of the Double R’s is the sister of the Tabin who Thorsen and Bradford saw earlier in the day. Chen thinks their kid could be their ticket. Thorsen Is against it, he doesn’t want to do anything that will put Tabin in danger.
The woman who shot Dr. Mitchelson in the car said she did so because he kept upping her father’s opioids and she told him that her father was taking too much. Her father overdosed. Nolan tells her that she is not going to spend the rest of her life in jail, someone else killed him first.
Tabin and his mother are brought into the station, they want an introduction, they might get Vina off the streets and back home. Tabin says he will do it.
Nolan and Juarez bring in Mrs. Mitchelson, she says she left before him this morning. She says this doesn’t make sense why someone would want him dead, all his patients loved him.
Chen shows up undercover at a street party where Vina is, gets out of the car, and says she is UPS, bought Vina’s brother and she pulls a gun on Chen. Things calm down, and Chen is welcomed but Tabin gets into a fight with another kid.
Juarez tells Nolan that there have been complaints piling up about Mitchelson for overprescribing opioids.
Nolan and Juarez are staking out the pharmacy that is dispensing the opioids for the prescriptions that Mitchelson writes. They pull over a driver who just picked up boxes of prescriptions from the pharmacy. He gives the name of the guy who did the doctor.
Chen is still sitting down with Vina and Shana, they do a run at a restaurant. The owner gives them the money, they leave.
Wesley tells Elijah that the city is going to make him an offer, he should take it. Elijah says he is going to take everything away from him like he did to him.
Nolan and Juarez get their guy, then Nolan gets a call from the coroner, the shooting didn’t kill Mitchelson, he died from poisoning.
Vina goes to see Tabin at home, she gives him her gun and asks if he can hold it for her he can use it if he needs to. His mother comes out, and Thorsen and Bradford arrive to arrest Vina for the murder at the liquor store. Tabin says he was used, they just wanted her home. Chen ran up when she saw the gun, she blew her cover.
Nolan figures out that Mitchelson’s wife is the one that poisoned her husband, he goes to her place, and she confesses, he and Juarez arrest her.
Wesley calls a press conference, he apologizes publicly to Elijah Stone, so he will drop everything.
Bailey arrives home, John as a surprise for her, brought her favorite chair.
